Launch Party, Silent Auction and Race Details

Launch Party

Save the date, folks! This year we are running and walking for Bruce House on Saturday, August 23rd. Registration details to come closer to the time.

Our launch party this year is hosted by our fabulous friends at Queering613. We’ll be running the usual silent auction at Queen St. Fare on Friday, June 13. Keep your eyes peeled for that event listing coming soon over on Queering613’s page.

Race bags and bibs can be picked up at the following times and locations. We always appreciate when you can pick your kit up ahead of time. It really makes it easier for us on race day and helps us start you off running on time.

  • Thursday, 21st August – Parliament Running Room at 228 Queen St – 11:30 to 18:00
  • Friday, 22nd August – Stroked Ego at 131 Bank St, 2nd Floor – 11:30 to 18:00
  • Saturday, 23rd August – On site at Riverain Park, 400 North River Road – 08:30 to 09:30

There is some parking at Riverain Park and the surrounding side streets, but we recommend biking or transit if you can. Routes 12, 14, 15, 17 and 18 will all get you close to the park.

Start and finish line is at Riverain Park, 400 North River Rd near the children’s play structure. Announcements start at 10:00, followed by a short warm up. For safety reasons, the runners will go first, followed by the walkers. We do not have exclusive use of the path, so be aware of your surroundings and make sure other folks can get by.

Once again we are offering a chip timed event this year. Do not forget your bib as it has your timing chip on the back, and we do NOT have any spares. Your bib is good for a beer or non-alcoholic beverage at the “Drag N Balls” event at the same location later that afternoon.

A volunteer will be able to mind your bag for you. We stress that this is a public space and bag check is therefore at your own risk. Your race bib number will be your claim check.

It is likely to be a hot day. We will have water available before and after the race. We strongly advise bringing your own water bottle. This helps us cut down on the amount of waste we use and also ensures you are comfortable out on the course. Because we share the path we are not able to set up an on course water station so do listen to your body and make sure you’ve got what you need.

We could still use a couple of volunteers for race day. If you know someone who might be interested (or if you have a question about the race not answered here) please contact our Race Director, Marcel, at [email protected]
